Torsion of a large ovarian cyst presented as an acute abdomen: Case report

Patients with acute abdominal pain often end up in the emergency department for surgical treatment. Ovarian cysts can lead to an abdomen due torsion (twisting) or rupture. In this case report we are going present a 70 y/o female patient left adnexal torsion, presence of ovarian cyst, presented as abdomen. The was enrolled abdomen, nausea and vomiting. After initial evaluation including Computerized tomography [CT] scan, cyst solid hypodense mass behind front wall, dimensions Anteroposterior diameter [APd] 13cm, Laterolateral [LLd] 11cm Craniocaudal [CCd] 15cm. possible differential diagnosis [DDx] included cystic tumor [TU] on mesentery well TU Urogenital tract (UGT). Intraoperatively found. adnexa were then removed. Histopathological showed hemorrhagic infarction adnexa. such cases is challenging because CT confuse surgeon whether arises from urogenital tract.
